Honky is a 'clothing label' in it's most basic form, Currently concentrating on tee shirts & the occasional sweatshirt, all work is hand printed on quality Australian made garments.
Honky is owned & operated by Craig Hill out of a house in suburban Melbourne, Australia. Comprising of original designs & hand printed garments.
The name Honky is derived from the derogotory term 'honky' popular in the USA in the 60's & 70's for describing white folk. In about 1997 the word caught my attention as perhaps the definative 'street wear' marque for current day white folk. Honky however is not a militant or political brand, it operates merely as an ironic name for people who want casual clothes with casual values.
Honky is drinking beer at a mates BBQ, it is listening to Iron Maiden, but it is also listening to NWA. It is not about burning crosses but it is doing burn outs in a Ford XB panel van.
I'm white, I'm a dork & I might as well accept it, but that doesn't mean I can't wear cool shirts in the meantime.
